Payroll Accountant

We are looking for a detail orientated individual to join our team at Sidney Sugars Incorporated as a Payroll Accountant.

The purpose of this position is to coordinate the completion of bi-weekly factory union payroll and verify attendance incident activities to ensure accuracy, validity, and the timely processing of payroll information. The incumbent will be responsible for processing payroll information and verifying all time entries for accuracy, following up with supervisors to ensure necessary payroll authorizations are completed on a timely basis, interpreting of the union contract as it applies to correct employee payment of time worked and submitting completed non-union time sheets to Corporate Payroll.

To be successful in this position requires prior related work experience and knowledge of accounting and computer systems normally gained through the completion of a two year accounting degree, or three to five years of related work experience. The incumbent must be able to find and correct errors in a timely manner and be able to communicate effectively with employees supervisors. An understanding of the key components in the payment process and computer system is essential. This position also requires a very high degree of accuracy, excellent organizational skills, confidentiality and the ability to monitor the data entry process to ensure accuracy and timeliness.

Help Wanted - Boiler Operator

Sidney Sugars Incorporated is seeking a full time Boiler Operator for our sugar manufacturing plant in Sidney, Montana. The purpose of this position is to operate, maintain, and service the coal and gas burning boilers.

The ideal candidate must have either a Class 1 or Class 2 boiler license or equivalent from other state to transfer. Individuals with a Class 3 boiler license will be considered. During campaign when processing beets, the successful applicant will supervise and direct activities of the water tender, fireman, and coal handler and monitor all boiler room operations, including steam pressures, water addition, coal bed burning, dumping of coal boilers, firing rates, and coal receiving. During intercampaign when not processing, the applicant will maintain and service all boiler room equipment.

Starting Salary is depending on experience and license, up to $26.02 per hour. Full time when competence has been proven. Benefits include medical/dental insurance, 401(k), pension, disability leave pay, life insurance and vacation, sick, and holiday pay.

Help Wanted - Maintenance Electrician

Sidney Sugars Incorporated is seeking a maintenance electrician for their Sidney, Montana sugarbeet factory.

The ideal candidate must be able to install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems and equipment such as motors, transformers, and switches. Must pass a written test on basic electrical principles.

$22.82 starting; $26.91 and full time when competence has been proven.

Help Wanted - Instrument Person

Sidney Sugars Incorporated is seeking an INSTRUMENT PERSON for their sugarbeet factory in Sidney, Montana. Starting wage is $22.55/hour. Advancement is dependent on skills.

The instrument technician is responsible for installation, troubleshooting, isolation, and repair of instruments that run the sugar manufacturing process. The successful candidate must:

  • Understand basic instrumentation concepts, terminology, and definitions
  • Understand basic electrical theory
  • Have knowledge of pneumatic instrumentation, electronic instrumentation, and of transmitters and computers in process control
  • Troubleshoot pneumatic and electrical problems
  • Comprehend pneumatic control diagrams and principals of operation
  • Efficiently complete mechanical work on automatic valves
  • Have knowledge of PLCs (Programmable Logic Controls) and RS LOGIC
  • Have a good mechanical and mathematical aptitude
  • Be able and willing to learn process equipment and sugar technology
  • Must pass the employer administered written instrumentation test
