Help Wanted - Shift Superintendent

We are looking for a motivated individual to join our team at Sidney Sugars Incorporated, located in Sidney, MT as a Shift Superintendent. The purpose of this position is to direct the shift operations of the factory in accordance with established procedures and in a manner that produces quality products at the lowest unit cost. During inter-campaign, this position will also direct and assist in the mechanical repair of equipment as well as the installation of capital equipment.

The principal accountabilities of this position include:

  • Produce a quality product within specification with minimal waste of product or resources, while complying with all company and regulatory standards and specifications.
  • Ensure maximum factory output through prudent factory operation.
  • Ensure all safety, sanitation, process accounting, product quality, environmental, and staffing functions comply with company policy and procedures.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with crew on processing and labor-management topics.
  • Identify sugar beet delivery problems and works with the Ag Department to correct.
  • Ensure maintenance and quality control are performing within established guidelines.
  • Administer time and attendance, work performance, disciplinary documentation and other administrative duties within company policy and constraints of union contract.

To be successful in this position requires an extensive knowledge of the sugar beet refining process, a solid mechanical aptitude, good computer skills, and knowledge of product quality standards, HACCP, sanitation procedures, good manufacturing practices, environmental and OSHA compliance. This incumbent must also possess excellent supervisory and leadership skills. These skills are typically obtained through a 2 - 4 year technical education and/or a minimum of 3 - 5 years of sugar beet processing and/or related food processing experience.

Help Wanted - Boiler Operator

Sidney Sugars Incorporated is seeking a full time Boiler Operator for our sugar manufacturing plant in Sidney, Montana. The purpose of this position is to operate, maintain, and service the coal and gas burning boilers.

The ideal candidate must have either a Class 1 or Class 2 boiler license or equivalent from other state to transfer. Individuals with a Class 3 boiler license will be considered. During campaign when processing beets, the successful applicant will supervise and direct activities of the water tender, fireman, and coal handler and monitor all boiler room operations, including steam pressures, water addition, coal bed burning, dumping of coal boilers, firing rates, and coal receiving. During intercampaign when not processing, the applicant will maintain and service all boiler room equipment.

Starting Salary is depending on experience and license, up to $28.74 per hour. Full time when competence has been proven. Benefits include medical/dental insurance, 401(k), pension, disability leave pay, life insurance and vacation, sick, and holiday pay.

Help Wanted - Maintenance Electrician

Sidney Sugars Incorporated is seeking a maintenance electrician for their Sidney, Montana sugarbeet factory.

The ideal candidate must be able to install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems and equipment such as motors, transformers, and switches or people with electrical and instrument experience, license not required. Must pass a written test on basic electrical principles .

$22.82 starting; $29.66 and full time when competence has been proven.

Help Wanted - Instrument Person

Sidney Sugars Incorporated is seeking an INSTRUMENT PERSON for their sugarbeet factory in Sidney, Montana. Starting wage is $29.66. Advancement is dependent on skills.

The instrument technician is responsible for installation, troubleshooting, isolation, and repair of instruments that run the sugar manufacturing process. The successful candidate must:

  • Understand basic instrumentation concepts, terminology, and definitions
  • Understand basic electrical theory
  • Have knowledge of pneumatic instrumentation, electronic instrumentation, and of transmitters and computers in process control
  • Troubleshoot pneumatic and electrical problems
  • Comprehend pneumatic control diagrams and principals of operation
  • Efficiently complete mechanical work on automatic valves
  • Have knowledge of PLCs (Programmable Logic Controls) and RS LOGIC
  • Have a good mechanical and mathematical aptitude
  • Be able and willing to learn process equipment and sugar technology
  • Must pass the employer administered written instrumentation test
